TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Sitting in front of a giant screen monitoring data on the Red-and-White village cooperatives, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agrinas Pangan Nusantara Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota explained the progress of President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship program. Joao said he checks the digital dashboard displaying cooperative construction figures across Indonesia almost every hour.
On Wednesday afternoon, May 6, 2026, the giant screen at the Agrinas office showed that 8,167 cooperatives had already been established. During the 90 minutes Joao spent speaking with Tempo, the number rose to 8,180. “We receive real-time reports from village supervisory non-commissioned officers,” Joao said at Yodya Tower in Cawang, East Jakarta.
Agrinas Pangan is currently recruiting 35,000 cooperative managers. Joao said the managers’ task would be to run the stores. “They will be paid through the state budget,” said Joao, who also helped design the interior of Prabowo’s private residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java.
