TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The number of people who died in the accident between the Commuter Line train (KRL) and the long-distance Diesel Train (KRD) at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4) evening has increased to 16 people.
“We received information today at 11.00 this afternoon at Bekasi City Hospital, a woman with the initials MC (Mia Citra), aged 25, died,” said Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, when confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday, as quoted by ANTARA.
He said that Mia Citra, the victim, died while undergoing treatment at the Bekasi City Hospital.
With this addition, the total number of victims in the train accident in East Bekasi reached 106 people. Of those, 90 were injured, and 16 were declared dead. Forty-four of the injured victims have been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment. Meanwhile, 46 other victims remain under observation and are receiving medical treatment at several health facilities.
“The death toll has increased by one, bringing the total to 16. We hope there will be no more casualties,” said Budi.
On Monday evening, the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta identified ten body bags containing victims of the accident involving the KRL and the KRD at Bekasi Timur Station.
The following is a list of the 10 victims who have been identified:
- Tutik Anitasari, female, 31 years old, from West Cikarang, Bekasi
- Harum Anjasari, female, 27 years old, from Cipayung, East Jakarta
- Nur Alimantun Citra Lestari, female, 19 years old, from Pasar Jambi
- Farida Utami, female, 50 years old, from Cibitung, Bekasi
- Vica Acnia Pratiwi, female, 23 years old, from West Cikarang
- Ida Nuraida, female, 48 years old, from Cibitung, Bekasi
- Gita Septia Wardany, female, 20 years old, from Cibitung, Bekasi
- Fatmawati Rahmayani, female, 29 years old, from South Bekasi, Bekasi City
- Arinjani Novita Sari, female, 25 years old, from South Tambun, Bekasi
- Nur Ainia Eka Rahmadhyna, female, 32 years old, from South Tambun, Bekasi.
